how is the international relations program at northeastern? How is it as compared to the IR program at Tufts?

Hey,

the IR program at NU is great and you can get pretty cool co-ops.
However, I believe Tufts has like one of the best IR programs in the nation. You can’t go wrong with either, however, I’d go for Tufts if IR is truly something you wish to pursue.

We have an international affairs program here at Northeastern and what I love about it is that it’s really flexible, most international affairs majors take up a dual major and minors as well. I love the department and think that the professors are awesome and friendly! Paid co-op options for the major are lacking but in the fall they have a co-op with the UN. I have plenty of friends who’ve done/are doing great co-ops all around the world, which is something that you won’t get at Tufts. The dialogue program is wonderful as well.

I find that the IAF program at Northeastern has a more hands-on approach to IR (and they make you go abroad). Tufts does, however, have the reputation, so it really depends on what you are looking for.
