Bumppppppp

Anything you want to know specifically?

how are the professors? courses? etc

It would be a stretch to say that the math department is at the very top of the country, but most of them are very good teachers. A problem with some of them (may not be a problem for you specifically) is that some are not very good at English. Some people may be better at comprehending them, as I feel I am, but I know that many people cannot understand some of them very much. It sometimes becomes an issue in earlier courses. I cannot speak to how this is at other colleges, just saying that it does exist here. All the courses are pretty straightforward undergraduate math major courses. You have Calculus 1-3, Linear Algebra, Algebra, Intro to Math Reasoning (basically an intro to proofs course), Real Analysis, a C++ course, a diff eq class, and four electives for your major. The electives cover a broad range of topics, which you will generally find at most large universities. These include Probability, Mathematical Statistics, Math Methods in Finance, Topology, Complex Variables, Combinatorics, Linear Programming, Partial Differential Equations and many more, depending on what you are more interested in. There is an honors math track which focuses more heavily on proof-oriented approaches to Calculus and Algebra, but I cannot completely speak to that. The major is done through the college of science, so you would need to take the college of science requirements if it is your only major, but there is also a second major in mathematics where if you are majoring in either the college of A&L or college of business, you can add math as a second major without doing the college of science requirements. Any other questions, throw em out.
