How is the philosophy dept?

I was a science major, but I had to take four philosophy courses: Logic, Anthropology, Ethics, and Metaphysics. They were among my favorite classes.

How is the philosophy dept at UA and who are the best professors?

Here’s some impressive data for philosophy majors:

[Why Study Philosophy? | Department of Philosophy - The University of Alabama](http://philosophy.ua.edu/why-study-philosophy/)

D is taking Ethics now thru Early College. She is taking 2 of her humanities this summer. Seems to enjoy them so far. However, it has only been a week.

Good choice!

One thing I noticed is that the number of courses is limited. There are probably aren’t too many philosophy majors.

There are many people who suggest taking courses in critical thinking and logic as part of ones undergraduate education.

I’ve known a few philosophy majors and they seemed to enjoy the program.
