Will I have to fend of saboteurs?
Will I have to push my way to professors' offices to find help for school work, advice, or research?
Will I have to deal with back stabbing or cutthroat students?

How many people actually enter as pre-meds?
Are the pre-meds friendly and can I easily find a study group?

Oh, I want to know this too.

I’m an English major so I literally know zero about this firsthand, but I have a few pre-med friends:

There are a lot of pre-meds. Like really, a lot. No one is going to sabotage you. They’re no more cutthroat or unfriendly than anyone else and I know they’re always asking each other for help and studying together. There’s a lot of people who are pre-health (physical/occupational therapy, etc) or nursing who are also taking the same classes, too.

The classes are big. You’ll take a bunch of bio, chem, etc lectures so it’s not like your professor will know you personally unless you take initiative, but that’s how it is with everything. No one’s trying to hinder you but a lot of the classes are weed-out classes so there won’t exactly be easy grading or anything.

Thanks for your reply rebeccar. Binghamton looks like a fairly attractive option after Cornell and Tufts.

Haha, you’ll find that that’s a common sentiment here. “I’d be at Cornell, but I didn’t get in / couldn’t afford it so bearcats woo!”
