How is the reputation of RIT's Masters' programs?

Hi,

I've been admitted to the Rochester Institute of Technology's MS in CS program for the Fall 2012 quarter, with a scholarship of around $14,000 for one year. This is obviously a big enough amount to make me consider the school very seriously.

I'm an international student with a GRE score of 1440 and a decent, although not mind blowing, GPA. I am waiting for seven other schools, all of which are way more expensive than what RIT will prove to be with this scholarship.

My question is - how is the overall reputation of RIT's Masters' programs? I am more concerned about its reputation in the industry and among potential recruiters. I am not really looking to do a lot of research during my MS, and will probably be looking at a terminal Masters, so please do take that into consideration.

From what I have heard so far, RIT's seems to be underrated because of its lack of emphasis on research. Is this true?

I'd love to get some opinions. Thanks.

I don’t know much about the school, but I do know that it is well regarded.

However, it’s not far from [Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) :: Architecture, Business, Engineering, IT, Humanities, Science](http://www.rpi.edu) which is also fantastic and may steal some of it’s shine.

I have actually applied to RPI as well, though I don’t know whether or not I can get a similar financial waiver from them.

RIT’s waiver is the main reason I’m considering them very very seriously.

I asked my father about RIT and he says he would hire a graduate from there in a heartbeat. He is an executive at Boeing and used to work at Airbus. That’s why we moved from Spain to the USA.

I know it’s just a convenience sample, but I trust his judgement explicitly.
