How is the Resident Honors Program at USC?

I recently received a mail regarding the Resident Honors Program at USC and now I have a little interest in it.
What is the work load like? Easy? Challenging? Impossible?
Is it worth applying to and giving up senior year at high school?
And how is the program overall?

For those of you already in the program... do you have any regrets? Would you recomend it to a junior not sure of which major to choose but loves learning?

Btw I live in NJ, if that makes any difference.
Thanks for the posts!

Do you mean U South Carolina or USC (Calif)?

Until I moved from Southern Calif, I had no idea that some people call University of South Carolina - USC.

OP is referring to Southern Cal.

yes, I am talking about Southern Calif

I got this letter in the mail yesterday too. It looks interesting but not my type of thing…plus my parents can’t afford the $50k+ per year and I probably wouldn’t get the top scholarship because you have to compete with normal freshman.

seancarpenter – are you NMSF? That provides a semi-guaranteed 50% tuition scholarship at USC… which is the primary way USC has increased its student stats over the past 15 years… the old fashioned way… with money :)

As I’m only a junior at the moment, I haven’t taken the PSAT yet to qualify for NMS (took it Soph yr. got 200 hoping to get 220+). So for this program since the applicants are only juniors none of them have been named Semi-Finalists–at least I don’t think so…

good luck to you then in October when you take the PSAT. Study for it with purpose… it could mean $20k tuition for each of four years… not pressure though, hehehe

Yea I’ve been preparin’ ^_^
