Hi,guys.
I am a college student. I just got a transfer admission from the Sixth College of UCSD with a Structural Engineering major, which is not my prior major in my applications. so I don't know much about this major, and if it fits me. I am sure I am good at and interested in designing and drawing. But I think i can learn things more skillful and technical in mechanical engineering area, so I prefer ME as my prior major. So should I get into UCSD with a SE major. How is the SE Department in UCSD. And how is the Sixth College in UCSD's college system? It is awesome if u can provide some information. I will appreciate that.

UCSD Structural Engineering is EXCELLENT. They have great facilities, very high ranking, and are doing awesome research.

Not sure I understand - why would they admit you to a major you didn’t apply for?

@sylvan sorry,it is my mistake making the message unclear. I did apply with SE as my alternative major. But I do not know much about this major inUCSD

What is it that you find interesting to think about designing/drawing? buildings? cars? trains? dams? bridges? widgets? Do you have any related hobbies? robotics? model cars? Do you take things apart and mess around with them? Try to describe more about your interests.
