I applied to UCD, UCSC, UCLA and UCI – Rejected from all, but waitlisted at UCI! (lol). I decided to apply at the last min. and didn’t get the chance to show an upward grade trend. Anyway – Will committing to the waitlist prevent me from SIR’ing to a private school later?
I’m pretty sure it’s too late to be on the waitlist unless you’re a transfer

Are you a freshman applicant? If so, You must register for your private school by may 1.
And yeah if you are a freshman applicant it’s too late to apply to be on the waitlist. But idk about transfers.
Either way, applying to be on the waitlist does not affect your admission to the school’s you got into

well uci is notorious for their annoying slow batch system so I don’t think many will be released that early, if any.
I remember some people saying that they got off the waitlist a few days after decisions came out in the
Class of 2019 UCI Decisions thread. Not sure if that is actually legitimate? o_O

Hey guys, last year the released waitlist acceptances days before the SIR date. Is this a bad sign that noone got accepted by now?
I personally don’t think it’s a bad sign because those who got accepted into UCLA/UCSD/UCD/UCB etc and applied to UCI will probably select the more prestigious colleges. So then, spots for UCI will open up. After May 1st, we should start to find out if we got off the waitlist or not! Goodluck!

I mean there are a few thousand people who will SIR and stuff so yeah
But yeah soon hopefully!
We will probably get notified by early or late next week. If we don’t receive any news by then, then we will probably get rejected.
