How is a high school GPA converted into a UMICH GPA for admissions purposes?

For example...
Are non-essential electives considered such as Art and PE?
What years are factored in?

They don’t convert GPA’s into Michigan GPA’s anymore.

They used to take 10th and 11th grade classes, eliminate non-core classes such as art and PE, give a 4 for an A (or A+ or A-), a 3 for a B (or B+ or B-) and a 2 for a C (or C+ or C-) and divide by the number of classes. No added weight for AP or honors.

Now they look at your transcript and the high school that it comes from and make a subjective determination.

I’ll confirm what res ipsa said. They just use the GPA on your transcript now.
