Does anyone know anyone in the Whitman/Newhouse dual program? Pros/cons? Job outlook?
My daughter is a junior dual in Whitman/Newhouse.
Pros:
- She and her friends have been offered great internships/starting jobs
- SU is great with AP/IB/CLEP and transfer credits
- Making great contacts with professors, mentors, and company recruiters
- Easy to drop either Whitman or Newhouse if one wants a single major
Cons: - Lots of credits needed: Minimum 145-151
- Need strong quantitative as well as communications skills
My daughter loves Cuse and is so glad she is a dual. She came in with a semester of credits and took another 16 credits over the summer and winter sessions. She takes a normal course load and will graduate in 4 years. She may be able to finish as a part time student and save money too!
Good Luck!
