i just finished my first semester at a small, private, rigorous liberal arts college that is decently competitive and prestigious, but not as widely known as, say, middlebury or carleton.

i finished my first semester with an A, and then three Bs, awarding me a gpa of around 3.2. i honestly wish i did better, and i'm aiming for more As next semester, but in terms of being my first semester at college, are these grades decent? everyone says those accustomed to receiving As in high school are sort of in for a shock in that the expectations in college are greater, and As require more work. tbh, i didn't work as hard as i could this first semester, and plan on working harder next semester, but is an okay start?
