How is this possible?

I attend the public high school that sends the most students out of any school in the state to UT, but even this is absurd.

How does someone top 8% 2100 SAT (not me) not get into Mccombs while someone with a 22 ACT near the bottom of the class (not me either) get into BHP? I find that very absurd. I mean, the average acceptance class rank % for BHP is top 2%, so why would they even accept someone who’s at the bottom of the class, let along with a 22 ACT?!?

@anonemuss Do you personally know this person who got into BHP with the stats you mentioned ?

Is his last name McCombs?

@Lizardly… must be… very well said ! lol…

UT law made some special exceptions in their admissions and it was a huge scandal, maybe this is a continuation?

Where did you hear someone with a 22 got into BHP?

@anonemuss Someone in the 8th percentile is not “at the bottom of the class”.

@PastePotPete‌ read his post again. I think you’ve misread it.

@anonemus‌s I’ll agree the BHP admit of a 22 ACT, bottom of the class applicant is quite incredible. So unless you’ve personally seen this applicant’s scores and admission decisions, you perhaps shouldn’t repeat this claim.

That a top 8% (review candidate) applicant with 2100 SAT did not get into McCombs is plausible, even if harsh.
