How is this possible?

Alright, I'm having a bit of a score report issue for my SAT scores...

I'm applying early decision to cornell, who told me that my score can be rushed.

I contacted collegeboard and the woman told me to wait until my october score is out, then order a score report for cornell, and after the 15th, this will be sent out (rushed), arrive at the college in two days (give or take), with all my previous scores in the report. She said this method is standard for early decision/early action, and those applying ED or EA that took the october test is having their scores sent out this way.

Is that all correct? Taking into consideration the nov.1 deadline? Or is it more of a formality considering your test scores are on your transcript anyway... just absolute proof... and it doesn't delay the application process significantly?
