How is Tulane with merit & financial aid?

I'm in the middle of doing research on Tulane right now in terms of financial aid and haven't come up with a lot just yet.

Can anyone speak from experience as to their financial aid and merit aid programs?

I'm an above-average student, rigorous course schedule, 3.8+ unweighted GPA, 4.3+ weighted, SAT low at 1200 for CR & Math, didn't take ACT; average but good ECs, including National Honor Society and community service, other attractive programs, but no leadership in ECs; job experience babysitting only at this point. One parent a legacy, but not a graduate, of Tulane.

Thank you!

I can't speak to how they are for your specific stats, but from what I understand they are good for both financial aid and merit awards.

39% of students receive financial aid, with the avg amount being about $23k. As for Merit, 33% receive it, with the avg being about $20k.

My son's stats were almost identical and he did not receive any merit money. SAT's in the 1200's are at about the 25th percentile for Tulane.

Tulane claims to meet 93% of need. They are a profile school, so they will take the equity in your home into account. If we subtracted our federal EFC plus about 5% of the equity in our home from the COA we found that Tulane met about 93% of the remaining need. They allowed outside scholarships to cover the gap, and then reduce the self-help portion (loans).
We were actually quite happy with what we got from them.
