How is U-M so selective, yet accepts 51% of applicants?

MLDWoody, what is OSU’s current UG acceptance rate? In 2009 it was listed at 75.7% and was the second highest Big 10 school next to Iowa’s 83%.

That’s what one of my (MI) teachers said, too. But then again, the acceptance rate IS much higher for in-staters still. Plus, it’s almost treasonous to do that: many in-staters grow up worshipping U-M, and to deny in-state applicants equally as qualified as OOS ones would just be cruel.

@Kdog, I have no idea. I just know it used to be a lot worse.

I can assure you that if both applicants are equally qualified, the in state one will have an edge over the OOS.

square, my point exactly.

Oh…I was basing mine on like school pop. and number of international students…Like UM’s Undergraduate pop. is 26,208 and only 5.7% of the students are international…then that means there are like about 1500 int. student in total…so like 373of int students/ year (class)…and so on forward…lol

I guess I forgot the other students that went to other schools :)

lol 10char
