How is UCLA Hendrick Hall?

my rooming for UCLA just came out and I was placed in a freshmen triple which is what I wanted. I was placed in Hendrick hall and i was just wondering what it’s like to live there? Is it typically really social and how far is it away from everything on campus? Is it near any of the study and food areas or is it a relatively far walk from all of those places? I heard it was on top of a hall so it’s kind of isolated and that was really only my main concern

Hedrick hall is by far the best place to live. It’s all freshman and super social. You’re close to Hedrick study which is by far the best late night food place. You’ll have a blast. It’s not even that far from the other halls closer to campus. It’s a 2-5 min walk from campus.

@10s4life What is your personal ranking of the halls from a freshman point of view?

@HuiDoge
Hedrick Hall
Dykstra Hall
Rieber Hall
Sproul Hall
Plazas
Suites

I currently live in a classic triple in Hedrick Hall. I’m an introvert but I like the social aspect of the hall because it helped me make friends at the beginning of the year. It’s also next to The Study which is my favorite dining area since you can make your own pizza. A lot of people who don’t live in Hedrick like to rag on the building because it’s so far away, but you get used to the distance within a week.

The only thing I really didn’t like is living in a classic triple, since I feel like I have zero privacy and the room is so small compared to other housing options. But if you get along with your roommates it shouldn’t be a severe problem.
