How is Univ of Nevada Las Vegas

I was wondering if anyone new anything about UNLV (Univ of Nevada Las Vegas) and could share it with me. I.E. student life, the area of the school, dorms, the all around feel of the college. Thanks

One of my friends is doing her Ph.D there (but she's only 22, so not really old). She loves it there, from what I've heard her suitemates and supervisor are awesome.

the strip is located a few minutes to the west of unlv, the airport is practically within walking distance, and most of what is east of unlv isn't the best part of town, but not extremely bad

I have read that most students commute & that the average age of the undergrads is about 25, which may be due to a lot of part-time, working students.

awesome location! party party party

....it's party, party, party IF you're 21. They're pretty stict about that on the strip.

Underclassmen can usually find good house parties though.

Anyway, I live in the city and can offer up some insight. UNLV is a really well-respected school throughout the valley. The're tops for hotel management, and have pretty good programs in business, communications, education, etc.

There's usually more going on off-campus, in terms of social life, but there are ways to get involved, and the students who go there typically enjoy it .
