How is USC compare to UC Berkeley?

<p>Growing up in SoCal, USC was known as University of Spoiled Children, if your Daddy could right a check, you could go there.......no longer is that the case. They have been working very hard to improve their standards and their reputation and are getting more and more difficult at admissions.</p>

<p>That being said, I know many kids who are admitted to USC, but not successful at CAL and UCLA!</p>

<p>Being in Southern California I don't agree that most college bound students think of USC as being on the same level as UCLA or CAL. My son applied their as a back up only and was accepted sometime in Feb to USC with merit money but never considered it once acceptances from 'better schools' came in.
Somehow when I think of USC I think of football.</p>
