I'm planning to major in Computer Science/Programming and got accepted to RPI and Nova. But I haven't heard much about Nova's CS program. I know it's a top-ranked engineering school and has a decent IT department, but I want soem student's input. Thanks in advance!

Bump! Bump!

It’s okay. Probably not as strong as some bigger schools like Drexel, Penn State, Rutgers etc but definitely not lacking at all. Two Comp sci profs authored books that are used in computer science courses nationwide. The profs are definitely accomplished in the field, some of them are just interesting people (One owns a vineyard and winery). You get a solid programming background. Every CS major gets a full time job offer upon graduation. A good thing about having such an excellent business school is when big financial companies like Goldman Sachs, PwC, KPMG etc hold events on campus, they extend their invitation to Computer Science and Computer Engineering students too. I guess because of the huge growth in data mining.

In terms of job prospects and quality of education, it’s probably the best major to choose in Arts & Sciences. It’s difficult but most CS majors manage to maintain a 3.0+
