pretty much the title. How much do you make out of undergrad? What is the most you expect to make? How many hours do you work?

Don't make what?

please be more vague

well top ten bank, consulting, big 4, .etc. Not everyone makes it. How many hours, how difficult, and what's the compensation for those that don't get the absolute best business jobs? I'm trying to be general, I'm sorry if I'm vague.

People who don't make it generally kill themselves, so I don't know if there is anyone who can answer your question.

If people who don't make it kill themselves how is it that the Toyota Camry is the best selling car in America? Wouldn't the entire Camry market be dead?

They kill themselves after buying the Camry?

My Camry's feelings are hurt.

Oh, and to the OP: I have a feeling you aren't going to get any responses when you basically say to the people who didn't get into top companies "you failed at life, how's it treatin' ya?

The people who don't make it are scared of success so they stay off CC.

[/sarcasm]

What's wrong with the new Camry????? I don't have one but they're not that terrible. I'd rather drive a Camry and have some savings than be like most middle-class families in NY leasing BMWs living paycheck to paycheck.

screw BMWs,get a porsche

I think he was being sarcastic also. Doubt he was seriously trying to argue against matt.

rrg. it's assumed that most people don't "make it." All I hear about are top jobs, which there are so few spots for. What's life like for the average joe with a finance/economics/accounting/other business majors? And I'm not saying that the people that don't get the absolute top jobs have failed!

hey! lay off bmw's! if u cant afford them dont buy them...but dont put them down!

Screw bmw's (Edit - Damn, I see that someone has already used my "screw" terminology). Toyota is where it is at. My 1997 Camry is still roaring to perfection. If you want high class, go with the Lexus.

I don't think you realize how big the "etc" is.

Maybe a local or regional firm. Or sales. Or commercial banking. There's always general management, too.

ok, so redhare, what are those like?

I can't say from personal experience, but in general you'll get less pay and have better hours. You'll have time to do other things than work, but you won't be "filthy rich." Entrepreneurship can potentially make a ton, but it's tough.

And I agree with red sox above.

thats why I use the "not-making it" strategy, in which you never make it but you make it off damn well ;-)
