<p>they will know what Ramadan is. they will not know the most common stereotypes of somalians. imo a lot of the applicants will be smarter than the members of the adcom, don’t assume a lot of background knowledge or that a panel of nobel laureates will be reading your app.</p>
<p>As a very good essay consultant taught my kids, do not assume when writing college essays.</p>
