Online it says that Yale accepts test scores from the February test date, so does that mean that I can send my scores from a previous test date after the December 31 deadline? I thought that we had to pay to send scores directly from the testing agency, but I just realized that counselors can send scores. I'm currently on winter break, so my counselor won't be able to send official scores until the second week of January. Will that be okay if my application is in by December 31? Thanks for any help! :)

Yale, and all colleges, will only accept “official scores” that are sent directly from the testing agency – that’s true even if your scores appear on your high school transcript. So, yes, you must pay to have your scores sent according to Yale’s deadlines: [Standardized Testing for Freshman Applicants | Yale College Admissions](Standardized Testing Requirements & Policies | Yale College Undergraduate Admissions)

The last possible test dates are:

Regular Decision
for SAT: January
for ACT: February
for TOEFL: January

That’s what I originally thought, and I’ll probably still send my scores officially from the agency, but this is what it says when I go to check my Yale application status:

"Below are the test scores we have received. We download scores regularly into our database; you will see your scores here as soon as they have been added to your application.

Note: We can only accept official score reports, meaning those that come directly from the testing agencies or from your high school counselor. We cannot accept the Student Score Report from you directly."

This is what is confusing me, because it says sending scores from my counselor is an alternative to sending from the testing agency. Any idea why they would put this?
