I've heard some mixed reviews about this book. Does anyone know if what Michele Hernandez says is still (if at all) applicable to admissions today? Or has it become outdated?

the original is somewhat outdated, bcos it’s ten years old. For example, Michelle was big on sending apps in snail mail, but unlikely true today. I understand that she is in process of an update.

Besides the obvious dates and numbers (ALL admissions has gotten more competitive test-score-wise), I’m a BIG fan of the concepts in her book. Highly recommended and cheap on amazon.

That particular book might be somewhat outdated, but it worked for my daughter this year. She followed the advice in the Michele Hernandez/Mimi Doe books (including sending in the application by snail mail) and she got in ED, Brown '14. I think the books give excellent advice and “tell it like it is.”

There was a thread asking the same thing not too long ago, and Michele herself actually made a few comments. Worth looking for.
