how lenient is gatech with applicants who suffered from depression?

hello, so if you have read my other threads then you may know i have a brother who has suffered from depression, anxiety, and stress for three years. it has affected his grades significantly but he has been able to maintain a 3.0+ gpa. we are asian so it is tough for us in the college admission process. his sat score is a 1700 but projected is 2000+. he is smart and his ECs are great. he won silver at a state competition and he went to a leadership camp. he also has 150+ volunteering hours with a few dozen hours here and there. tech is one of his top choices. we have talked to many people and they said not to list depression. but our question is, if he does list down depression on his tech application, will the officers look at him a little more leniently? or will it hurt him?
thanks!

I would not mention it. GT is a tough school. Go look on the reddit page. A number of kids have depression issues due in part because of how hard the classes are. The real question that you should be asking is… Is an environment like GT the best thing for your brother given the fact he is already has depression, anxiety and stress in high school?
