How less is too less?

Good stuff Harish, you sound really determined to succeed! :)

Research IS extra-curricular, btw.

Oh and yes, his stats were so-so other than his board marks.

harisheena, ur research work sounds very interesting.
btw, it is considered EC. ur ECs show ur passion and that is very good. Good luck.

thank you tipu, ani n pix

Wow, harisheena, good for you. You seem very passionate about your research. I sincerely wish you the best of luck.

thanku bubbly.

@harish

Great going man! Is your research highly mathematical with lots of differential equations and stuff? Is it of almost Ph D level intricacy/difficulty? Is it what you think about some specific topic? How did you get started with it?

And you also seem to know many MIT students personally. Lucky you are! Who is this Informatics Olympiad guy? Do you know Tanmay Kumar of MIT '12? (I once read something about him) And also I’ve heard about this guy Viksit Arora who got in with a 44% in 12th exam maths. Do you know him as well?

MIT’s admissions criteria/process is unique, I must say. Yet, they manage to rope in the ABSOLUTE BEST.

wait till dec, I will forward you the soft copy or the e-version of the journal. Can’t split all the beans now.

It happened to be in class 9 that one of my friends who was the chess team VC got typhoid just before a major state chess tournament. I had to choose someone now, but the decision was arduous. No one could take his place. He was one of the greatest players of my team. But I had to take someone. Unfortunately, I had to choose an amateur player of the club. The amateur was not just an amateur chess player, but also an average-academic guy. I thought that his participation in the tournament is gonna **ck up his half-yearly exams. But had no option.

This guy practiced insanely for 10 days. We played the tournament and grabbed a significant position (not top 3). Later, when the half yearly results were out - “I” was outscored by ‘‘him’’. h e l l shocked. Configured that those 10 days increased his h e l l concentration. long story dude - let it be till here. some other day. If start writing I will write the whole 1000 words essay, which is gonna make you - zzzzzzz… zzzzzz… zzzzzzzzzzzzz… sleep (probably after april)

I know only one and that’s Anshuman (personally). I know Viksit very well (but that’s a different stuff that he doesn’t knows me loloololl  )(Viksit and Tanmay are on Anshuman’s FB friends list though). I just know that Viksit got 44 in maths and overall 64%, but thats long before. also, he couldn’t complete MIT. He is a MIT drop out case.

ani - u r still wak??? dude, its 2 am…

When did he get 64%? In school? How did he get in? Was he very rich? And the biggest question: WHY ON EARTH WOULD HE DROP OUT OF MIT?

Answer me Harish. I’m damn curious.

In 12th boards.
Yes.
He applied, adcoms liked him, he got in. lolol  I donno
I donno whether he was/ is rich/ not.
I just know that he reapplied for something and got rejected by MIT.
He should have been MIT class of 11 or 12, but he is no more in MIT.

Everyone is curious.

Tell me something about you. about your application, passions, if you get in - what will be the main reason be

Harish, what schools are you applying to?

All ivies except Penn-Dart, MIT, Stanford, Chicago, Tufts, some LACs…
This is not a final list. Will prep it by this month or next.

If I am not able to manage the application fee of Stanford, I won’t apply there. Want full ride. Will give $0 for application fee for any college.

I don’t believe in safeties for US colleges. My aim is to study either in a leading institute of US or India. I am preparing for AIEEE (all india engg entrance exam) also. If I get in I will feel myself lucky otherwise - NIT (national inst of tech).

thope fellow harish…best of luck anyway…

and what do you mean "Will give $0 for application fee for any college. ">???

if my college doesn’t waives my application fee, I will waive consideration to that college.

what do you mean by this?

But I may change my fee waver principles for Stanford

Full aid at Chicago/Stanford/Tufts/Brown/Columbia? You must be really good.

you shouldn’t have written this… its very scary… huh!!!

how do I know? I can’t judge myself.
