That freakin one B- from Statistic Class is worrying me crazy right now. If you guys had same experience or at least similar situations, please leave me a feedback or thought.
I wouldn’t worry about it too much. You did good where it matters most. I’d be surprised if you didn’t get in. What’s your overall GPA?
I agree with nico52; I think you will get admitted.
omg thanks guys, you guys relieve me so much. By the way, my cumulative gpa is like 3.4
the Kelley website states “consistent B grades.” I’m not sure a B- meets that requirement
Consistent B’s or higher for guaranteed admission. You can still get in with a B- or below but it’s no longer guaranteed. I’ve seen students be denied with a single B- and I’ve seen others get accepted with a C on their transcript. It all comes down to how difficult the schedule was and how the student did in other core classes.
But dont they weight more business classes than stat class like k310?
I can’t really promise that OP will get into Kelley 100%, but to be honest you have better grades than a lot of DAs (especially considering the 2nd year business classes). I’d be surprised that they didn’t at least give you a probational period or something like that. Good Luck!
If ‘business classes’ do weigh more in their decision then they probably consider k310 a business class since it’s an I-core prerequisite. I agree with the others in that you’ve shown you can do the work, but it’s all speculation at this point.
My daughter had a friend who had all A’s in the business classes, and a B- in a history class. He did not get into Kelley. So one gen ed class can blow it for a good student!
It seems like the OP would get in, given the very tough classes taken and the really solid grades. Not to act like I am preaching, but the B- class wasn’t required to get into Kelley, given the other classes the OP took. Best, I think, to take the minimum required courses to apply, so as to reduce risk of getting a sub solid B grade; then after taking the minimum required to apply and being accepted with all Sold B and above grades, take a bunch of classes at community college during the summer that are the equivalent of Icore prerequisites in order to catch up on them. I don’t think anybody knows how many seats are available for non-direct admits in Kelley these days, so best to reduce risk as much as possible before applying.
Explain the term OP please…
@kingca94 OP refers to Original Post (aka the person who posted the question).
sht… I think I misunderstood my essay topic and wrote weirdly…
Can anybody give me feedback about it?
Topic: How does your personal definition of diversity influence your approach to business classes and your future career?
“Business” like the other nounized adjective word: happiness from happy, fallaciousness from fallacious, scantiness from scanty. For me, once I was really ‘busy’ get to know this subject as my life partner, ‘business’. During high school, lack of pocket money initiated thoughts of having my own business which was building a computer. Since I had experiences of building computer by apprenticeship, there was no problem. However, Shortage of money eventually led me to swap monthly tuition with material cost. Finally, I made my first customized computer that was barely able to run low-graphic programs. Therefore I only dealt with poor people like me. It wasn’t a bad result for my first attempt getting approximately $16 out of material cost. Nevertheless, I was only happy until my school reminded me about late fees on tuition. This was my first business, which failed due to my naiveness. A year later, I calculated deliberately the cost of building computer for revitalizing my business. To not repeat the same mistake, I looked for customer first instead of building first. I also got deposit in advancement. Additionally, I researched them so much for material cost. When I’m both done with building and selling the computer finally, $47 of net gain left me with pleasure of successful business. Even though the unusual experience takes only small portion of my life, this unusual experience eventually was impetus enough to motivate me to jump in pool of ‘Business Attraction’.
I don’t think think anything in that comes anywhere close to answering the essay prompt. I also don’t know what you’re talking about.
I don’t think that response has anything to do with diversity, business classes, or your future career (unless your future career is building computers and selling them). It is a very weird question though in my opinion.
oh shoot… I totally totally messed that essay up, would that take huge portion of my admission?
Kingca94 . . . I hope you get in . . . Have you heard anything from Kelley yet?
Thank you guys all, Although I had a bad essay and a B-, I finally got the acceptance email from Kelley. YOu guys helped me a lot thank you so much again
@kingca94 Congrats! Based on your grades, I’d say you definitely deserve it
