I have a 3.86 unweighted GPA, 4.19 weighed GPA (only one B freshman year and one B sophomore year, the rest A’s) & a 1480 on the SAT
For extracurriculars, I have:
- Published Mobile Apps & Websites (10th-12th)
- Started a programming club (11th-12th)
- Captain of Outdoor Track team (10th-12th, Captain 12th)
- Captain of Indoor Track team (10th-12th, Captain 11th & 12th)
- Production Manager of Theatre (10th-12th)
- Internship Over Summer
- Volunteered @ Yale Hospital Over Summer
- Played piano for 10 years
- Taught special needs kids how to play tennis every year (9th-12th)
- I am not a Michigan resident and have no legacy
u got this. if u don’t get into Michigan they don’t deserve u! you have great stats and r involved in your community and school !!! good luck
Michigan is really, really tough for OOS students. The son of a friend had close to perfect stats - 4.0 UW in the most rigorous classes at a top high school in the state, excellent ECs, and a 34 ACT on his first try, and he got waitlisted.
Don’t get hung up on this school (it may already be too late). I wish you good luck, but if you don’t get in, you should not feel bad for one second. Lots of perfectly qualified applicants will not be accepted.
Edited to say: UM was the reachiest school to which he applied, but he got acceptances to several of other schools, any of which I’d be thrilled to pieces to have my own daughter attend in a few years. So these things often have a way of working out. It will for you too.
@Groundwork2022 Is right. Your stats may put you at a disadvantage given that many people with perfect stats get rejected.
