How likely is to get into your alternate major?

People at my school's Honors program as well as members of this forum have told me about the importance of listing an alternate major and have all the prerequisites done just to have a higher chance to be admitted at schools like UCLA.

My primary major is Psychology(impacted), but my current GPA is kinda low for that major. I decided that I'm gonna list Philosophy as my alternate major since it's not impacted and because I'm gonna have all the prerequisites done by the end of this fall. Also the GPA for that major is roughly a 3.5.

So how likely is to get accepted with your alternate major?
or should I list philosophy as my primary major instead?

bump…i’m in a similar situation and i would like to know as well

Q: If I am not admitted under my first choice major, will UCLA review me for my alternate major?

TAP applicants are reviewed, and are generally accepted to the alternate if not to the first choice (you cannot list an impacted major as a TAP alternate).

So you can have biology as your alternate even though it is impacted?
