I am a freshman in Virginia tech who is applying for Georgia tech for Fall admission of 2017. My Current GPA is 3.7 and my math&Science GPA is 3.67. I will have 38 credits from Virginia tech after I finish this Spring semester. I will qualify the courses required by major in Gtech because I have a lot (about 20) credits from AP tests. Last but not least, my teammates and I were the second place of CubeSat, an international satellite design competition raised by NASA and Cornell University. How likely will I be accepted by Georgia Tech? The major I applied is Aerospace Engineering and Mechnical engineering.
Looks good to me, IMO if VT is cheaper I’d spend another year than transfer.
Thank you! I definitely work harder to make sure I get in!
I had less credits, lower gpa, and less extracurricular activities and I got in… so CONGRATS! YOU GOT IN TO TECH!
I applied as a engineering major too.
Chance me please - Hey guys so I have a 3.833 GPA with a 1430 SAT (680R,750M) and 32 ACT (34E, 33M, 31R, 28S) I have completed 12 AP classes by graduation. My extracurriculars and essays were solid and geniune. I am at a disadvantage due to my class rank being low because of my uber competitive high school (300ish/700) Please let me know the probability of me getting admission!! I need something to calm my nerves. THANKS
I don’t think class ranking is that kind of important. According information online, your academic achievement is higher than most of students who gets accepted by Georgia tech. Don’t worry, be happy.
@Wudishenmao thanks. But my GPA is weighted, will that skew my chances
That will give me some concerns. But even if your GPA is weighted, you are still very competitive. I will feel surprised if you don’t go to the top 50 colleges in this country. Your future is golden!
@Wudishenmao thanks, that means a lot. Also, I’m interested in psychology and put BS in psych as my intended major. Since psychology is a less in demand major will that also increase my chances?
I can’t answer this question. I know nothing about pysch. Sorry
If you are applying these two majors in Georgia tech, then I will say it’ll be easier for you to get in. Because only the engineering and computer science of Gtech have the highest ranking and requirement.
