<p>Mine is around 515 words (simply because I did not see the common app essay limit, stupid me). It looks around 500 words, it’s literally just a sentence and a half longer than the limit. Mine is 1 1/2 pages double spaced. It didn’t get cut off in the preview, and the essay is all the same light gray color. I hope I’m fine.</p>
<p>The instructions say 250-500 words for a reason… I don’t know why people are writing essays over 1000 words… I read that it is okay to go over until about 570, but after that, it is definitely too long.</p>

<p>Mine is 499 words. I didn’t know it could be longer than that though, so now I might go back and add what I really want to say.</p>

<p>My boyfriend’s was around 850… and he’s been accepted to his top two colleges. Of course these colleges may not be the kind most CC’ers are looking at but hey it doesn’t look like it hurt him. :)</p>
<p>Mine on the other hand is 618. My college counselor did not say anything on it being too lengthy or whatnot. Thank goodness :)</p>
<p>A lot of my friends say that as long as it doesn’t go over a page, visually, it’s fine. One girl told me to change the font on punctuation from 12 pt to 10-11 pt. Clever.</p>
<p>I’ve got 548 and I am so ready to quit it, but at the same time… it burns. :P</p>
