how long did it take you to get your Rutgers acceptance/ rejection? For the 08?

I dont know. Rutgers hasn't been in the middle or top of my list since they don't have my major. It's a waste of money going to a school that doesn't have my major. I also sent in my acceptance fee to Purdue.

Yea, I see what you mean. It is probably better if you withdraw then, so if you were accepted, someone else can have your spot.

Well now you have to wait until after the new year because the University is closed.

I'm kind of PO'ed too. And now we HAVE to wait til after the new year???!!

I've been waiting for 4 1/2 weeks, although compared to "Rutgers 27" wait time of 3 months so far, I guess I shouldn't really complain.

I just really want to get in, since it's my first choice at the moment.

I found out approx 3 weeks later. It could have been much earlier, but my guidance counselor sent my HS transcript late.

Did your counselor send out the transcript early or late? That might affect the decision time.

My transcript got sent out like a week before the priority deadline of 12/1 and I submitted the online portion like 2 days before the deadline. I got accepted by December 3-4 if I'm not mistaken...so like 5 or so days. My official acceptance letter came on December 5.

Hey, I'm just curious. When you are accepted, asides from a letter in the mail, what does your status page say? Does it basically go from "In Process" to "Accepted!"????

You get an e-mail the next day or so that says Congratulations from Rutgers. But before that, if you log on to your Rutgers status page, it says at the top

Dear XXXX,

Congratulations on your admission!

Then all the usual stuff about your identity.

Then if you scroll down to where it lists the colleges you've applied to, instead of In Process, it says Admitted, and there's a new column that says Enrollment and the status is, at the moment, Open.

The page looks different as soon as you open it because of the new message at the top.

Blegh, I still haven't handed in my application because of the stupid essay -_-

I was trying to hand it in before the priority deadline but then I got caught up in the essay and just ended up missing it :(

3 days? very quick, but im in-state

I have a question: I heard they don't read any info you send them (essay, etc.)
True?

I think they look more at your scores than anything else.

Got my acceptance letter yesterday. Admitted to SAS New Brunswick, SAS Newark, and school of engineering.

like 2 weeks after i sent it in. and i sent it in on the night before the priority deadline. but other ppl who i think have better grades than i sent their things in earlier and heard back weeks after i did.

i set my application and everything in around christmas and they got all my stuff soon after. sitll havent heard anything and i was going nuts so today i went and met with admissions so i could cool my nerves.

if your a regular applicant its up in the air with how long its going to take because rutgers has rolling admission.

if your a transfer student trying to get in for fall 08... dont expect an asnwer till priority notifcation for regular applicants are up (unless you are very lucky). i suggest if you transfer students want an idea of what your chances are, you stop by the admissions office on the new brunswick campus. they basically tell you whether youre in or not but its not official nor is their word a promise. they are pretty straight with you also which is good.

I sent mine in in September, and heard back about a week later, I think because very few people applied then. I think it's taking long because of the number of applications coming in now.

i sent everything in before priority.. november 26th... i got accepted on monday.. i don't know why it took them so long.. BUT it was a sign of relief

i can finally answer the real question to this thread.

2 and a half months.

Is it possible for a junior like me (3.3 UW , 4.4 W) to get into RU business or even RU?

In state

Plus A LOOOOOOOT OF ECS and leadership

1810 on SATS (first take) goign to take it twice

You have a chance shivshanker. I'm not familiar with how selective the business school is, but you can definitely get into Rutgers University with those stats (4.4 GPA, and 1810 SATs).
