How long do I have to respond to CCNY (CUNY) offer?

So I’m waiting on admissions responses for colleges I applied to abroad, which would be my Plan A, but the results may not come until April or May. I just got my acceptance letter from the City College of New York, one of my backup schools, and they say the commitment deposit deadline is 1 May. Does that mean that that is also the deadline by which I have to accept or refuse their offer?

Mostly all colleges have a deadline of May 1st. This means that you have to accept the admission offer on or before May 1st, USA timing or your addmission seat automatically gets cancelled. I would say you better decide soon as march is nearly coming to an end.
