I emailed my first audition video yesterday, and this morning the professor emailed me back saying he got it and they are reviewing it. I’m wondering how long they usually take to review them and get back to you on if you got in or not. I (obviously) hope I got in, but I also hope they tell me this week or next week because decision day is May 1.
It really depends on the school. Some have rolling admissions and some wait until all of the auditions are in and reviewed. You might see if there are any hints as to their process on their web site. If you would like to share which school you sent the audition too, there might be some people on this forum that can speak from experience.
Okay, that makes sense. The school is Hampton University. Their music program is pretty small usually 60-70 students total (all instruments, all grades). When I talked with one of the professors there about the audition process and their program he said he usually has about 3-5 voice students each year in performance; including their education and recording technology programs, about 15 with all 4 years. Based on that I’d imagine it shouldn’t take super long to decide lol.
