How long do you guys prepare for the SATs?

How long do you guys prepare for the SATs?

It’s not how much you study, it’s knowing that you get something out of the studying and knowing how to study. During Christmas, like 4-6 hours per day(I wake up REALLY early so I still have the whole day to do things). During school days, it’s a little harder. Sometimes you may want to go as far as to study DURING SCHOOL during your lunch or in class when you aren’t doing anything, though don’t try and look like a geek just studying some big book full of vocab or something. The weekends leading up to your SATs are important as well. If you want a 700+ on each section, you can’t have the attitude of Okay, I have to study 2-3 hours and then I can be done with it and go do other things!. You have to be determined and study hard and sacrifice a lot of time to get your score.

i know people who start in 8th grade and end up with a perfect score.
I support RahoulVA when he says … its all about how to study. I believe having read somewhere in the college board u need a minimum of 46 hours of study for SAT ‘to do well’. (I m not sure exactly where)

as i am international, it was in june that my parents and i finally decided that i will apply to the U.S. and thats when i first heard of the SAT.
So basically i had 4-5 months as i was giving SAT in october and december.
I think in sepetmber i studied for it the whole month. took 12 practice tests and left it after that.
then in december i just gave a practice test and then went and gave the sat.
I got a decent score.
i guess it depends what your level is.

I know people who’ve been taking classes since the 3rd grade, and some whose parents forced them to study everyday after their hw was done. Some people ended up doing good, and some did bad. It really depends.

46 hours!? i winged my last one and i have til the 26th. uh oh.
