I need to know "How long do you guys study?

Almost never.

Hmmm... figures

I study for about 3-4 hours though.

I don't. Often. Although I am going to study for my anatomy final, and on Friday I skipped first period to go to McDonalds and study for my Honors Novel final over a sausage-and-egg biscuit and a small coffee.

Hmmmm....mcdonalds I think I'm lovin it! lol :confused:trademark

This year, my study habits have considerably worsened. Instead of cramming the night before, I cram in the period before the exam.

Yeah I try not to cram for anything it can mess you up. :(

I'm bad about studying. That's one of my goals for next year is to develop better study skills because mine are horrible.

Well yeah studying can be harsh b/c your studying and the you say to yourself oh well I need a break and you have only been studying for like 15mins and then you take an hour break. :( Thats what I do and I have to stop that.

I don't study at all. I'm such a moron. Way too lazy. These bad habits are going to have to change in college next year. I used to be a good kid. I studied my ass of in middle school up till 9th grade and my grades reflected it. I got straight A's. But then I stopped caring and I started getting B's and A's. Eh w/e. It's all good.

dv, that's my problem to. I seldom study. I hope to get the changed this next year, my senior year, instead of trying to do it in college where it will be even harder.

My problem I think comes from in junior high and elementary school stuff was so easy for me to do. Junior high I never studied and never had homework to do at home because I could get it done so quickly. High school isn't quite the case:(

Just a question while we touching the topic-how do y'all mangage to still get good grades(like mostly A's and very few B's). Do you literally study every waking moment? Also, how do y'all feel about the notion that people should have balance with work and play in HS. Do you think that it is more important for people to study their hearts out and sacrifice fun to get good grades for college, or do you think it is just as important to work hard and play hard but maybe not get such outstanding grades? Just curious to hear what other folks think.

I personally think that HS students should study hard and sacrifice social life in order to get the grades and resume. But at the same time, I think they should utilize their summers to do something fun to relax. I don't know though--a part of me finds it too hard to analyze-if you don't relax your robbing yourself of your youth, if you party too much, your putting your grades on the line. Any thoughts?

I do my homework, but I don't study-study. Sometimes, for the first few months of school, I'll read through my notes once the night before a test. Other than that, I'll study my notes (or not...) during class before I have a test.

runaway, I have all A's.

runawaywithme, I have all As, and I don't study "every waking moment." Far from it, actually. I generally have 2-3 hours of homework, although some nights I might not have any, and other nights I might have 5 or more hours worth (those nights are almost always the result of my procrastination though). I always tell myself I will study for a test in advance, but I always end up going over my notes the night before/the periods before the test. I've figured out a study method that works for me though, so that helps.

I do get together with friends over the weekend (not every weekend though), and I also have to balance schoolwork with dance, piano, music history (evil RCM requirements...), and Chinese school.

I think people need to find a balance between schoolwork and fun. It doesn't have to be on either extreme (locking yourself in your room the minute you get home from school to study, to partying every day) For me, dance is a place for me to relax, and forget about school for a little bit. Yes, it can be a bit tricky sometimes to balance it (eg. there are times where I have competition over the weekend that takes me out of town, and at the same time I have several assignments due on Monday), but I guess it also helps me with time management - something that will come in handy in college/the work place.

I do exactly what lablondie said up there ^^.

I do think, though, that people who work very hard and are really prepared for class/tests should get good grades no matter how "smart" they are. There's a kid in my AP English class, and he's not exactly the brightest crayon in the box, but he spends hours preparing for our seminars (reading/highlighting the text, reading critical essays about it, sparknotes, researching the author's background, etc.). I just read whatever we're assigned. His contributions aren't exactly insightful, but you can tell he did his homework. I think he deserves an A as much (probably more) as someone who is just an inherently deeper thinker.

I don't study as much as I should.

Hahaha... I cram. Finals are going to be so frickin' easy, though.

only 2-3 tests and a final produce our semester grades which letters not percentages.... (early college entrance program)

.... must study everyday... alas i miss those buffer grades

i study but gettin bad grades lol
