Hello,

I applied for MSU Fall 2011 the first day applications were out, which I believe was mid July. How long does it usually take? I applied as a transfer student, if that matters.

I sort of need to know soon because I need to look for living arrangements.

First-
How long it takes depends on a number of things. The website says about 12 weeks after all material is received. Depending on how long it takes your cc to process transcript requests, it could take quite a while. I know that my transcript (for transfer credit) took almost two months to actually get to MSU.

Secondly-
I wouldn’t worry about living arrangements for a few months. I have never heard of anyone signing a lease this early. IIRC, people don’t usually start signing leases until late fall or early winter. There is a housing fair in October and I don’t think many people starting signing up until at least around Thanksgiving. Even now, there are still places looking for leasers.

Alright, thanks.

I’m actually applying for the Spring 2011. After like 15 minutes it didn’t let me edit my post.

But I figure there will be a college student that’s dropping out/graduated early/transferring and will need someone to buy the rest of the lease. And that’s assuming there is not anymore apartments available.

Spring 11?

Good luck with that. I suggest looking on Craigslist. Many people continue to stay in their places even if they drop out.

Check AllMSU as well! There will definitely be available places for sublease starting spring semester (especially for students who are studying abroad etc). Just be persistent and you’ll be able to find something. And there are always apartments renting - people break leases etc. (but the best ones are typically taken up so I’d look for a sublease first).

Hi! I am trying to apply to MSU as well. I was wondering how you answered their essay question? I am having a tough time writing my essay and thought you might give me some examples! Thanks for your consideration.
