How long does it take an evaluation to get processed?

My Teacher Evaluation B hasn't been processed yet...but she claimed to have mailed in on the 25th of December.
Does it usually take a while?

Thanks!

I really would like Mollie Batmit's input :]

Think about how many pieces your application had.

Now, think about how many applications MIT receives for RA.

Now, think about how long it takes them to open all of the mail and to sort it into the proper folders.

Relax, there will be a blog post saying that all of the mail has been sorted, and you’ll have an opportunity to resend things if they aren’t received by this point. Decisions won’t even be thought about for at least a month and a half.

EDIT: Also think about how many holidays have happened between December 25 and now - your letter probably has just arrived at MIT and is waiting to get sorted.

^This.

At this time of year, it can take a few weeks for everything to be processed, because MIT is getting buckets and buckets of mail every day. It’s compounded by holidays for the mail room staff and holidays for the postal service.

Everything will eventually be processed, usually sometime in mid-January.

Usually people will tell you that it takes a few weeks, especially at this time. However my case was unusual. I sent the materials on Dec 21. Since I am int’l, it probably took about 5-7 days for the materials to arrive. However, when I checked my account, they were processed on Dec 29. Quite strange. (Did they work at Christmas?!)

No they work normal business days. Including the period between Christmas and New Year. However, many folks do take holidays that week.

Would MIT allow late teacher recs to be sent if the original ones were lost by snail mail?

I send my transcripts and etc on the 22nd, and i tracked my stuff too. The last update was on 26th which said it entered the US, but no more updates.

So can I still send recs if the postal office lost it?

Of course.

If your recs are still not processed when they post the “we’re through the mail” blog entry, they’ll provide the admissions office fax number for you to fax your materials. Until then, there’s no need to be concerned.

Hmm I see. Thanks guys!

I submitted my transcript month ago and its still under process… what should i do

Under process? You mean “not processed”?
There is an announcement appearing at the top of the MyMIT page, informing that should you miss anything, fax it to MIT.
