My counselor emailed my college my high school transcript on June 15 but I recently got an email from my college saying I need to send my transcript. My online college portal also says I need to send a transcript. I called my high school today to make sure my transcript got sent and they told me it did. Is it possible it got lost and I need to send it again? Or should I wait and see if my college recieves it?
Call your college first thing tomorrow-- the odds are overwhelming that no one is in admissions on a Sunday. Confirm the address.
An email should have been received that day, so I don’t see how waiting around will help. Ask your high school to resend after you confirm the email address, and ask the college to let you know one way or another by Tuesday morning.
At my kid’s HS, unfortunately transcripts weren’t even sent out until last Friday June 22. And it was done by the registrar via snail mail. And every year dozens of anxious parents, having heard horror stories about colleges not receiving transcripts on time and rescinding, line up the first day of summer school (Monday 6/25) to get an additional set of transcripts. Unfortunately I probably will do that as well since the due date is July 1. A lot of the neighboring schools use electronic services like Parchment and Transcripts Plus, but nooo, my kid’s school is still in the Dark Ages.
Sometimes it takes colleges a bit of time to update the portal. You can always call and confirm that it was received.
