so I completed nov. 1 apps for uva, umd and college of charleston. I know that UVA says that it could take up to a month to update their portal with my stuff, and I guess it's the same with umd (it basically says it's only gotten a teacher rec and my sat scores, yikes. secretly im not that concerned though im only applying cause my parents are making me as im in-state). I'm just concerned about college of charleston because they say they only consider you for early notification if ALL parts of the application are complete by nov. 1 but it still says my transcript hasn't been recieved. my school sends them out electronically and my family connections says "initial materials submitted" which everyone tells me means my transcript was sent. does it really take them that long to get them if they are sent electronically, or am i screwed for early notification? i needed to do early notification to get into the honors college which is why i'm really concerned. any reassuring words, or has anyone applied to cofc and had this problem?? thanks!

Please, just call them tomorrow and ask. It’s really not a problem - I was surprised at how welcoming many colleges were when I did that. And its a better solution than asking people who know even less than you do.

Thanks! I knew that probably was the best option I was just wondering if anybody else was in the same predicament/knew some inside knowledge, but I will definitely contact them directly.

my UMD application says that it’s incomplete, except for me it says they havent gotten my SATs, college rec, AND transcript.

I know for a fact that my school sent the transcripts out loooong ago, and I think most colleges accept stuff if it’s postmarked by Nov 1st they take it.

Also, I sent my SATs in really late and I knew that UMD wouldn’t get them by Nov 1st so I called them and let them know and the girl said she’d put a note on my application letting them know :)

If it’s been more than a couple of weeks, you should probably call or email to be sure. My ACT scores didn’t make it to Emory when I sent them, so I ended up emailing them to ask whether they had received them. It turned out they hadn’t, so they contacted the ACT people and got the scores.

In case anyone was wondering, I emailed them and they said they got my transcript on Oct. 31 and that everything was fine. I also just got an email saying that my Honors College application is complete too. So I’m just hoping that my other colleges got all of my stuff too but they just have a much larger applicant pool to sort through. Thanks!
