Hi everyone,
I am a totally novice here and started my SAT test very late.
the SAT I took today (Oct.5) is my second time of taking it. the score will come out on 10/24. So before the score is out, I still not sure about which school should I apply for ED.
Is it too late to decide which school to ED at 10/24? (which is just 6 days before the deadline).
how can I work this out? If my teacher send Letter of recommendation and high school transcript after 10/24 (maybe on 10/25), would the schools receive all of those before 11/1?
Really need help here, hoping someone answer me T-T
Thank you so much!!!

My guess is t;hat you shouldn’t apply to ANY ED schools if you’re not 100% certain you’d go if you were accepted and could do with never finding out any other offers.

If you insist, then here’s what happens. Your rec letters get uploaded to the Common App. Then you direct them to the ED school. Your counselor should already be on board. He/she will fill out what’s needed and submit your transcript. But it starts with you having the conversation with the GC soon. Like this week, soon.

I assume you can afford not to compare FinAid packages? Your family can afford this?

thank you very much for answering!!!
Doesn’t ED have higher acceptance rate?
and for FinAid package…for the school like NYU I think my parents would not pay the tuition for me…No matter ED or RD, does the FinAid affect the admission decision a lot?

Make sure you submit the score to any potential ED school as soon as possible. Don’t be surprised that it may take more than a week to deliver the score and many schools do not accept rush score and need to receive the score by application deadline.

ED higher admit rates: it depends on the college. Often times, the numbers are artificially high due to athletes and legacy admits. What school(s) are you talking about.

NYU & fin aid: I don’t understand what you’re saying. You might ED to NYU even though your family will not pay for it nor qualify for huge FinAid (which is not NYU’s strength)? Then why are you even applying at all? You’re wasting everyone’s time.

uh…sorry I didn’t say it clearly last time…and I have talked to my parents and I think NYU would be my choice to ED… thanks for your answer anyway :)!and BTW does NYU care if the applicant is a first generation college student?

thanks for mentioning it!!!I didn’t know this before…
