How long does it take for official admissions letters to arrive?

I have been informed of my acceptance through the Gibson portal last week, but I still have not received a formal letter of admission in the mail. I was told that if I received any merit aid that it would appear in this package of stuff from Tulane. Has anyone else received a letter? I am an international student so that might be why it has not come.

People have received letters. No doubt it will take longer for yours, maybe 2-3 weeks?

I just received it by email in PDF form! Thanks!

Oh cool. Good to know that is how they are handling internationals.

I received the Presidential Scholars merit award too!

That’s awesome!!

If I received that merit, do you think I have a good chance at one of the full ride scholarships?

Good chance? Technically no, because there are a limited number of scholarships compared to the number of qualified people that apply. But on a far more positive note, you have as good a chance as anyone else that is applying.

Another technicality, or actually more than a technicality, they are not full ride scholarships for the most part, they are full tuition plus fees. You are still responsible for room, board, books, transportation, and incidentals. So it covers about 75-80% of the total cost of attendance. The exception is that of the 75 DHS scholarships that will be awarded, 5 of those 75 will receive a Stamps scholarship which is, indeed, a full ride. Some number of the 75 will be selected to be interviewed (via Skype I think) and then the 5 winners chosen. The others still receive the DHS of course.
