<p>Are you asking how far in advance you should make your request? The answer is pretty soon; I’d recommend the first week of October for a November 1st deadline, and the first two weeks of November for a December or January deadline. Your school may have its own deadline - ours is Dec. 1 for all rec requests. </p>

<p>Keep in mind that you may be asking the most in-demand teachers at school, and you want them to have enough time to make writing the rec a pleasant task rather than a last-minute chore!</p>
