I completed my fafsa mid-january and only one of my colleges so far said they actually got it. Plus, all my 9 colleges say they got my CSS profile which I completed after my FAFSA. Should my schools have updated their statuses or should I be worried that my FAFSA was not sent to them?

It depends on the school. We have not begun to import the FAFSA into our system. We are not ready yet … there are things that must be set up in our system before we can bring in this year’s FAFSA’s. If the correct school code was entered on the FAFSA, it will get to the school.

I was wondering the same. On one college’s website it says that the online application will reach them in days. We filled out the FASFA the first or 2nd of January. Double checked SAR and college is listed. College’s financial aid portal says S has not applied for financial aid (complete FASFA is the requirement). UGH! S emailed the financial aid office this afternoon to check on the status. We are not going to get any financial aid as total cost of attendance is below our EFC. However, scholarships seem to be contingent (even the merit only) on completing FASFA.

This all seems like such a maze!

It is possible that they have not begun loading the FAFSA’s into their system yet … so it would still list him as not having applied. If they tell him they HAVE started bringing them into the system and his didn’t get loaded, post again … I can give you some possible reasons it’s not there.

I have been wondering the same thing. We did FAFSA really early this year - january 3rd ish I think. I have been checking constantly and still shows as not information on file for this year for either student at the same school. I’m assuming they have not loaded it yet.

Thanks kelsmom for reassuring me on this. The financial aid part is just as stressful as the application.
