Just wondering. I turned in the special circumstances form on Monday. I'm expecting a few weeks, but I'd like to be sure.

Special circumstances considerations are done by each college (or not…some don’t do these at all). You need to contact the college and ask them how long this typically takes. I’m sure it varies from school to school.

Are you a current student?

Is this a FAFSA only school?

It will depend on your school. Special circumstances appeals are completely at the discretion of the financial aid officer. We did one a few years back at my daughter’s school and I think it took 2-3 weeks. it was right in the middle of early spring, their busiest time of year, but her school FA department is pretty quick and efficient. My son’s school’s FA dept is incredible slow and inefficient. It would probably take them months judging on the speed of everything else they do.
