I filed the fafsa in the first week of february and the CSS Profile right after it came out so I was wondering when I might hear back on financial aid.

They start sending out financial aid packages early March I heard. Hopefully someone can give a better answer because I want to know too. My FAFSA got rejected but hopefully I’ll get it all done within the next few days.

I already got my student aid report thing by email so i think its been accepted, dont know what that means. But if anyone who has done this before knows it would help.

If you don’t mind me asking, what did the email say exactly? What was your EFC and did it have a * by it?

BTW I talked to an admissions person earlier, and I’m pretty sure you’ll get your financial aid package early March.

It just said my fafsa had been processed, and that my student aid report was available to view online.

Yosup, what happened to cause the rejection?
And fyi, the * means you were selected for verification. To verify, U Mich will ask you to submit the final tax return for 2009 to confirm your aid package. To be prepared, make sure you have the return done early and watch for the letter or pre-emptively fax it to financial aid.

And folks, just so you know, one in three applicants will have a random * beside it for verification.

Loong story, but we put in the wrong b-day for my dad, and it didn’t match up with the SSA. He got a new PIN with the correct b-day and signed it, and the signature just got processed. My EFC is 0 with a star, so I’ll be getting my parents’ tax info ready. Now all I have to do it correct my dad’s b-day on the actual FAFSA (doing that right now).

Anyways do you guys think U of M and the federal/state government will come through for me with aid? How much in loans will I likely have to take out? There is the M-Pact thing I’m eligible for, right?

Also, I called U of M and they said the 2010 estimates ween’t important at all, and that the other info they could just get from the FAFSA, so I don’t have to update my PROFILE :)

I just want to make sure though, even if I filed the PROFILE in November before my parents did their taxes, I don’t have to update the PROFILE telling them my parents completed their taxes, right?

Yosup, U of Mich tries to meet full need for instate students one way or another, so don’t worry tooooo much. I predict you’ll be fine ; )
