How long does it take UCSC to process transcripts from CCC's?

I just finished classes at a CCC about a month ago for summer session. I just applied for a transcript to be sent to UCSC and it said the CCC produced the transcript already. I've heard horror stories about how UCSC always loses transcripts and takes months, sometimes even half a year to process and give credits for classes. Has anyone transferred credits from a community college to UCSC and have them process it? How long does it usually take on average?

For what it’s worth, I’m an incoming freshman and I took some courses in my local CCC. I sent my transcript in May and it was processed about a week later. Ironically I didn’t get any credit from those courses but my AP credits covered that. If you have a MyUCSC account you can check periodically if your transcript is received, otherwise call the admissions office.

It really depends on the timeline you were given (paid for) by your CC and the priority UCSC sees the transcripts. I’ve posted on these forums a few times with my transcript issues, but luckily nothing has really happened to me due to late transcripts.

The most important thing is to check with your advisor to see if there is any record of the units from your CC. If there isn’t, you probably want to call up your CC and ask them to check the status of the transcript. If they have receipt that it is delivered, the admissions office is probably just lagging or they are too busy processing freshman/senior transcripts.
