How long does it take you to write essays?

To keep it standard, provide estimates at pace per page typed.

It takes me at least 30 minutes, but I know I'm on the slow end.

It depends on how much I’m trying, but I can write around 15 wpm.

I’ve written four sentences in about two hours now, so I’m officially diagnosing myself with writer’s block. :D

Im only able to write half of scribbled sentences on Timed writings in my AP lit class, Thats a failure for me

I usually sit and mess around online for a couple hours, then the actually writing takes like 15 minutes

LOL I usually have to pull all nighters to finish a big essay. Depends if I know exactly what to say. I’m wicked slow though - probably about an hour a paragraph. It’s because I perfect it as I write.

Depends I guess. If I’m trying to write a high quality essay, it could take me a day just to make a short introduction paragraph. Meanwhile, for AP English I can turn out 2-3 page papers in about 35 minutes that are decent.

i can crap out a decent paper pretty fast

I can do a decent paper quickly, but it depends on the content/subject/how much I care/etc.

I can handwrite two pages in 40 min. Typing’s a bit faster but also smaller, so it probably evens out to 20min/page.

That’s a “good-ish” essay. Crap essays I can do two pages in 20 minutes.

Is it possible for someone to require more time on writing things in standardized tests but not anything else? Because that would totally be me.

I’ve bs’ed essays in full length in less than 10 minutes before.

We do timed writings in both AP Lit and Euro regularly. {errr… we DID them! hahahahahahah graduated! yessss}
In Euro, I actually have to read through the prompt and gather my thoughts and whatnot, and think of stuff to write about (we have 40 minutes total). With… ~30 minute of writing, I almost always write four pages exactly. If anything, I write more than that (four pages - college ruled paper, medium sized cursive writing. lol. When I feel like my essay is going to suck, or if I can’t think of anything but complete bs to write, I do the essay in print. hahahah).
In Lit, we have to read a poem or two or a prose passage or something and the prompt or whatever. With total 40 minutes allotted, and maybe… 25 minutes of writing in there, I get about 4 pages again. Probably because I’m BSing everything anyway and can write maybe a little faster. lol.

Depends. For test essays, I can write 4 or so pages (2 front and back) handwritten in 45 minutes. So like 11 minutes per page handwritten?

For English essays (literary analyses, etc.) it takes me a long time to get started because I’m lazy and don’t want to do it. If it’s due the next day and I start at like 5pm, I go about 1.5-2 hours per page (typed) and get done around 11-12pm. If I start around 10pm I can do about 1 hour per page and get done by 1-2am. If I start at 6pm, I can get 20-30 minutes per page and get done by 1st period at 8am.

For history research papers it’s probably the same as English, but the whole research thing and footnotes and other distractions distorts it a bit.

Takes me 30 mins to type a 2page, double spaced essay while listening to music

It depends. If it’s one of those open-ended essays like in lit - or on any topic that requires minimal research/source citing - I can usually do a page in seven minutes or less @ 45 wpm typing. If I have to cite sources / do actual research / complete a project for Calculus, it’s usually thirteen to seventeen minutes per page. The longest paper I’ve ever written probably took three to four hours plus research. It was 15 pages, but it was on an easy subject.

It depends. To write an article reaction or something similar that doesn’t require citations it usually takes about 15-20 minutes per page, less than ten if the article happens to get me going on a rant somehow. Research takes me a while to do because I’m pretty meticulous about it, somewhere between 20-40 minutes a page depending on the subject.

Can anyone answer my question? It was serious.

^^If you get provisions, but I hear that that’s hard to get

Yeah, I think anxiety and stuff like that can play a factor, perhaps try pretending it’s not standardized lol
