How long does it take

My daughter has applied to four colleges. Two in Alabama, U of A and Auburn. She has also applied to two in Florida. FSU and U of F. All schools were applied for about the same time. She has received acceptance to both of the Ala schools but neither of the Florida. How long does it take to hear something back from the Florida schools

Can’t speak to FSU, but Uf only has one notification date for those who applied by nov. 1. That date is approx second week of Feb.

Zebes

For FSU, she will find out Dec. 8 if she applied by the October deadline.

Neither UF nor FSU has rolling admissions. If she met the 11/1 application deadline, UF has one acceptance date - Feb. 11th. She can log on to her online application account and find out her status on that date. UF does not have a waitlist (sometimes called deferred), but you can appeal a decision (although they rarely reverse their decisions). If she did not meet the 11/1 deadline, she will be considered on a space available basis if she submits her application by 3/1. What that means from what I can tell is that if she is a truly exceptional candidate, she will be admitted. Otherwise, no chance for admissions if you miss the 11/1 deadline.

For FSU, if she met the 10/15 deadline, she will find out Dec. 8th. As with UF, she can log on to her online application account and find out her status on that date. FSU has a second date for acceptances - Mar. 16th - for those who did not meet the 10/15 deadline but who meet the 1/19 deadline or who were deferred for admission on Dec. 8th.

She should log on to her online application accounts at both schools before the decision dates to confirm that all of her transcripts/scores were received.

All of this information is on the respective school’s web site.
