How long does the whole admissions decision making process take at pitt? I submitted my sat scores today through collegeboard.com (says delivery time is 1-2 weeks) and I submitted my application today. My recommendations should be submitted in the next 2-3 days and my transcript should be sent in the next 1-2 weeks.

My application was marked as completed on September 29th and I received a decision on October 7th in the mail. I would imagine the closer you get to the deadline, the longer you have to wait.

yeah i had some problems with having my guidance counselor send out my transcript in a timely manner to Pitt to avoid getting into traffic with the second round of applicants after rolling admissions notifications started Oct. 5. My app and recommendations and SAT's were in by Sept. 30 yet Pitt didn't receive my transcript until Oct. 13 which i thought would delay the process but i got my acceptance letter about a week later on the 21st. If your SATs and transcript still have a week or two to get to Pitt i would imagine it could take about 2 weeks for you to get a decision since many applicants are rushing to meet the deadline before spaces fill up for main campus and the earliest people who applied got decisions 5-7 days after completion of their apps. Good luck!

When does the main campus usually fill up? Do most people apply to pitt this early?

It took the full two weeks for Pitt to get my SAT scores (sent them in very early September-and they only had it end of September)

transcripts were sent out on the 3rd at my school

My application was marked completed the 13th, got my decision the 21st or 22nd

My advice? Do NOT wait! There really isn't much advantage to waiting to at least send out your transcripts and SATs...
