How long does it take for IU to update online whether or not they've recieved your transcript/SAT score?
I applied on August 18th, and submitted my transcript and scores in early September.
So far, the site just tells me that "If you've not already done so, please submit scores/counselor signature form"
Does it usually take this long for them to update that they've received my SAT score? All my other schools I sent my scores to have got them by now... and I heard back from those three already with acceptances.
Thanks!

You should call the admissions office between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. They might be missing something from your application. They can tell you over the phone in only a minute or so.

It’s better to call. They’re slow to update the websie. You could be admitted before the website is updated.

You better call. You should have gotten a decision by now. I sent in everything late sep. and received a decision last week. Did you have your counselor fill out the counselor sheet and send it in with your application?

Yes definitely call. You could possibly be a borderline applicant…potentially why you haven’t heard anything yet. My transcript was sent from my school 3 weeks ago, and received a decision today.

My counselor has been on pregnancy leave, so I had another counselor check in with her regarding whether or not she’d sent my counselor form with the transcript… I assume she would have by now, because I told her my deadline was Nov. 1…
Will IU let me know on the website? Or by mail?
Thanks for the help!

laurenxx,

Judging from your deadline, I believe that you are aiming for the scholarship. It is good that you spoke to another counselor. Nonetheless, you really need to follow the advice provided by others. It seems to me that we are more anxious than you. You or your parents should call IU tomorrow. There are only 5 days left for you to send everything in (mainly the transcript/counselor form). Don’t let the opportunity slip away. If everything goes well, you will be notified by e-mail notification, status change on the web, and the admission letter.

I don’t know if they would specifically tell you. They may just tell you that your application package is not complete. You should try calling the admissions office too to see. If you’re trying to get automatic scholarships, the deadline is Nov. 1st. Don’t wait on it.

–Will IU let me know on the website? Or by mail?–

There is a very good chance that they won’t ever contact you if something is missing.

You need to CALL IU. Your counselor may have indeed sent the proper forms, but if IU received them and then lost them while checking them into the system (this happened with my son’s transcripts and delayed his admission and probably cost him a small scholarship), then the IU admissions office will not be able to make an admissions decision. Don’t call your school, call IU admissions office. If IU says over the phone that they need something, then contact your counselor.

I would call. For my dd the turn around was about 2 weeks. Also, when I called with a question about logging on to the webiste, the admissions office was very helpful and even told me that she had been admitted and would receive an e-mail the next day. Very nice people. The e-mail did come the next day and yesterday she received a packet with scholarship offer and a birthday e-mail.

D received email on 10/25 asking her to apply for selective scholarships and acceptance to IU. Have not received any snail mail yet. When are the selective applications due? Not Nov. 1st!

ind500, they stagger the due dates, so not to worry!

IND500…“asking her to apply for selective scholarships AND IU” ?

Confused about your wording…she got an e-mail asking her to apply to IU, Does this mean she has not applied to IU and is being recruited? If so, yes-they want the application by Nov 1 to be eligible to apply for scholarships. If you meant she’s already applied and they are offering her the option to apply for scholarships, you will get snail mail…and they gave 30 days last year for that to be completed. Everyone gets a different deadline, based on when they applied. But…same as the advice to OP…make SURE that they receive that scholarship “stuff” on time. My daughter’s teachers didn’t send her recs in, and we had to call and ask them to reconsider her. Their wording is VERY strict about it being on time. But, they also said people were having the same trouble we were (not even KNOWING that the teachers hadn’t done their part), so they extended the deadline. Don’t know how they’ll handle it this year. The recs were “online”, so one teacher didn’t even RECEIVE the “invitation” by e-mail (school computer problems), and the other didn’t realize it was SUCH A short deadline. So…luck to all…keep on it…make sure all required paperwork is received. I spoke to the office several times last year (yikes! A YEAR ago!?) as we navigated this process and they were ALWAYS helpful and courteous.
